Height: Up to 12 m depending on conditions
Leaves: Glabrous, bipinnate, petiolate, with short petiole bearing a gland near the middle
Crown: Rounded, branches developing relatively low on the trunk
Flowers: Clustered in globular golden-yellow heads, fragrant, 1 cm in diameter
Trunk / Bark: Young branch bark red, becoming dark and rough with age, sometimes tinged red in deep fissures
Blooming period: June–July
Fruit: Dehiscent, narrow pod, 0.5 cm wide, 8–12 cm long, light brown, flexible, and more or less constricted between seeds
